This adventure cruise type is a demanding route, without the comforts of conventional tourism trip. Water is scarce and little electrical energy is obtained from gasoline generators and solar panels. The road is uncovered and dusty. Permanent and constant sun during the day and cold at night heat. No conventional hotels, accommodation takes place in the Wayuu communities visited.
For this tour the visitor should be physically healthy. Not suitable for disabled due to lack of required services for them. For the conditions of travel is not recommended for young children or older adults with chronic health problems. However it has health services (hospitals) in Uribía, Manaure and Maicao and health posts in Puerto Bolívar, Paradise and Cabo de la Vela.
For a more comfortable journey we recommend: Bring water bottle, knife, objects toiletries (toothbrush, towel, soap and toothpaste, the latter two preferably biodegradable), sneakers and sandals or shoes to beach, 2 or 3 sets of clothing warm weather, swimsuit and shorts, flashlight with extra batteries, sunscreen and sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses with UV filter, hat or cap for sun, identity, personal first aid kit, light blanket and camera.
